The Firefox Add-ons I Use To Make My Browsing Easier

firefox The Firefox Add ons I Use To Make My Browsing EasierI have been a fan of Firefox for years now. One of the qualities of this browser in my opinion is the amount of add-ons you can install to make your life easier when you browsing the net, and doing your daily work.

This post is about the add-ons I am using to make surfing more convenient, be more efficient or get the information I need quickly.

Here are the add-ons I am using. I can recommend all of them:

For Bookmarking:

For more Efficiency and Easier Web Browsing:

  • Do screenshots and more with FireShot
  • InFormEnter adds a small, clickable icon next to every input field in a web form, from where you can select the item to be inserted – no typing required. Very useful.
  • Easy shrink any long URL or link in the page to something you can email or Twitter using the TinyUrl service with a single click in your browser.
  • Download Statusbar. For easier download status integrated into Firefox
  • Use PDF Download to do whatever you like with PDF files on the Web.
  • Embedding Internet Explorer in tabs of Mozilla/Firefox. The IE Tab.

For more Information while Surfing the Net:

  • FlagFox shows the country of the server of the website you are browsing
  • FoxClocks lets you keep an eye on the time around the world – or just your local time – by putting small clocks in your statusbar
  • The SEO Quake Extension aimed primarily at helping web masters who deal with search engine optimization and internet promotion of web sites.

Website Management:

  • FireFTP. FTP integrated into Firefox. Indespensible.

Obviously are there are a lot more out there so here is the link to the Firefox Add-ons page:

All Firefox Add-ons

My last new website is now online but this is just the start!

I am finally where I set out to be three months ago.

Three months ago I set myself the goal to build a news website, a website on stakeholder engagement topics and my own personal/business blog to complement the websites I already have. Yesterday I finally went online with my corporate responsibility website called CorporateResponsiblity.Net.crnet My last new website is now online but this is just the start!

The purpose of this website is to be a place for news all around Corporate Responsibility. I know that there some websites out there but I always struggle to see what value a lot of these news stories have. For me personally 70% of all the Corporate Responsibility news that come out on a daily basis is corporate spin, a pure publicity tool and do not really have a lot informational value in my opinion. The news and press releases that are on CorporateResponsibility.Net are only news items I came across personally and considered news worthy.

I now run two online forums, three blogs, one information/news website and my own company website, so seven altogether. I think this is more then enough for me now!

So my aim for the next 6 months is to establish each of these sites to be regarded as:

  1. Providing first class information on the particular topics all related to sustainability,
  2. Easy to read and founded within best practice and
  3. most important to help promote sustainability via the internet.

Obviously this is a lot of work but to be perfectly honest. I have always dreamed of doing something like this and I feel very lucky to finally be able to start realizing my dream.

All the best,

Fabian
