London, Germany and the SustainabilityForum.com

This past week has been another very busy and interesting one. I started out thinking I would be able to focus on the London network this week but on Tuesday I got a call to ask whether I would able to spend 2 days with a client in Germany. So I jetted off to Germany in the early hours of Thursday and arrived back in the UK late Friday evening.
Yesterday (Saturday) was great to relax and catch up on the past 2 days of emails and office work.
The next week will be spent here in London and I have a kick off meeting with my programmer to discuss the next steps for the SustainabilityForum.com. Many of weeks of back and forth on the future of the forum are now over and you can image how happy I am to finally get this show started. 
I will also have more new posts on Social Media, Networking, Sustainability, CSR and more this week. My plan is to; if I have the time, have new posts every day during the week from now on. We will see how this will be manageable.
So on to the next week.

All the best,
Fabian

Wedding Number 3 And the End Of A Busy Week

wedding Wedding Number 3 And the End Of A Busy WeekYes I know. Not another wedding post. But yes of course. Wedding number three in August is up next. We are going to Germany tomorrow to join one of my old school friends for his wedding. This time we are going by car, not plane.
My week so far has been very successful again. I only had two full days but these two days brought good progress and important decisions have been made.
Finally.
I will provide more detail on these decisions once I am allowed to so bear with me for a few more weeks.
I have written another blog post yesterday on the SustainabilityBlog, org. This post is on the topic of renewable energy and the way companies are on the look out for the solution that suits them best. Take a look if you like. eWaste Article

In this wedding spirit let us enjoy the nice picture on the right had side. Wouldn’t you like to have a bite (if it is marzipan of course)? I just loved the picture that is why included it here.
I will be back on Sunday for a full week of week and no more weddings in the next weeks I hope.

All the best,

Fabian

Very Good Meeting And Another Nice Wedding

Our wedding yesterday was really fun but a little to long in my opinion. We came back very late or may I say early. But it was great to see a lot of our friends and be part of a classic German wedding for a change. Photos will follow once I am back in the UK on Tuesday.

The meeting on Thursday went really well. We had a good open and frank discussion of ways to work together. Something I expected and I wasn’t disappointed. I will reflect a little about the outcomes of this meeting and see where this leads me.

I will now get back to enjoy the weekend (although I love writing blog entries as you can see) but stay tuned for more updates. Next week will have another social media post as well as a CSR related entry.

Regards,
Fabian

Hamburg For A Day And A Wedding After That

I am off to fly to Hamburg/Germany today. I have an important meeting there tomorrow morning. Please keep your fingers crossed for a positive outcome. This meeting is a significant influencing factor for my short and mid term business future. I will report back on Tuesday of next week on the outcome. So stay tuned.
After that meeting I am heading to Flensburg after I have met up with Anne to attend a friends wedding on Friday. This is our second wedding this month and there is one more to go after this one. I will post some pictures next week.
On the business front this week has been very successful and productive so far. So no complains there. I had a lot of interesting conversations with all sorts of people across the globe and I was able to spend some time on expanding my online networks on Xing and LinkedIn. But to be perfectly honest, I am looking forward to the time when everyone is back from their holidays. There is not much going on here in London.
I also published another blog post on SustainabilityBlog.org today on Sustainability and CSR communications is you are interested.

So keep your fingers crossed for tomorrow everyone.

All the best,
Fabian

Where is the summer?

sonne Where is the summer?Well here it is the summer. For a couple of hours on a Friday that is. So you think: “Oh No not something about the weather again.”
I hate to write about the weather all the time but what can you do when the weather is so bad that you wish you would be somewhere warmer and sunnier. Okay now lets stop moaning now Fabian.

This week has been fairly quiet. You can really tell that it is the holiday season. Even my wife works from home today. This hasn’t happened for months because she was always to busy.
Because there was not so much going on this week I focused on online networking with a special emphasis on LinkedIn and Xing. I really love these networking sites. They are so useful sites to connect to likeminded people and professionals in your field. LinkedIn is more a global professional network where Xing in my opinion is very “Germany” focused. But in any case would I recommend to anyone interested in making new business contacts to register with both or at least with one.

I am going to Germany next week to meet up with a potential business partner in Hamburg. I am leaving a day earlier then Anne to meet them. Anne is going to Hamburg as well because we have another wedding in a week’s time close to Flensburg. (link to Flensburg).

And it decision time after that meeting. I have to finalize my plans for the redevelopment of the forum. This might not sound like a big and important decision but this decision in which direction to take the forum will be a huge influencer in where the future of my family lies in my opinion.

This weekend will be a nice weekend hopefully. Anne and I are meeting friends on the Sunday to, if the weather permits, take a long walk in the southern London area. There are some nice places to walk and with a 5-7 hour walk this day should be fun and great ot get away from the computer for a day.

Until next time everyone.

Fabian

Summer has finally arrived in the UK

I guess we have all been waiting for this for quite a while now but the summer has finally arrived in the UK as well.
This past week has been really nice in terms of weather and has been very busy when it comes to work.
I flew to Germany on Monday and came back to London on Wednesday evening. The German meeting was very productive and may lead to more later in the year. Let’s keep our fingers crossed. Thursday was mostly spent on the phone or Skype respectively. I think I had something like 10 conference calls. I stopped counting at some point.
These where the highlights:

  • Three articles by TSWN members where put online
  • I published the interview with Novo Nordisk
  • Registered the domain Stakeholder.me

I will be in London all of the upcoming week and Anne and I are off to Copenhagen for a wedding on Friday.

All the best,
Fabian

A week to remember

This week has been an amazing week so far. Of course there is the weekend still to come.

These are the highlights of what happened this week:

  • The Sustainability Writers Network (TSWN) is taking shape and I was able to recruit 10 more great writers. I will write more about this network next week.
  • I have been to two great MeetUps here in London and connected to many great people.
  • Connected to Kevin Long the COO of JustMeans. Great guy.
  • Got another call with a request for a consulting pitch next week.
  • The SustainabilityForum.com got over 60 new members in only a week with the best ever week in terms of traffic.
  • My cooperation with AccountAbility21 kicked off.
  • Bought a new domain with great potential: SustainableChina.com.
  • Sold a domain after weeks of negotiation.
  • My new design for this blog was finished and went live.

All in all has this been a very productive week and thank you to everyone that I met or that visited my websites.
Next week I am off to Germany for three days and back in the UK on Wednesday evening. I am going to the Entrepreneur Meetup on Thursday morning and have important meetings on Tuesday and Friday. Keep the fingers crossed for another successful week next week everyone.

I will provide an update when I am back from Germany.

All the best,
Fabian

Germany and the free and empty office

I am just now sitting on my desk in Krefeld/ Germany. I am not really here very often but my business is based here because a good friend of mine offered me this desk, IT access and the business address free of charge. He is a very kind person and I owe it to him that I was able to establish PB Consulting GmbH in the first instance. Without him I would gotten nowhere.
Anyway I got a little sidetracked there! icon smile Germany and the free and empty office
I am in Germany (as said) the days of this week and fly back to London tomorrow late in the evening.
Today has been a very hectic day here. First I send 4 hours with my accountant, then had a lunch appointment and then discussed future business opportunities with this friend mentioned in the first paragraph.
Everyone has left the office for the day and I just turned on some music (James Blunt – 1973) to finally sit down and write some blog posts and catch up on my emails. This is the first, one on the SustainabilityBlog.org will follow.

Busy, busy, busy but lovin it!

I have not been writing for over a week now because I have been extremely busy to say the least. You can decide whether this is good or bad I guess. icon wink Busy, busy, busy but lovin it!
This was my schedule in the last week and a half:
Fly back from Germany, stay one day, fly to Faro in Portugal, get a car to go to Sevilla in Spain, stay in Sevilla for 2 nights, get back to Faro and then fly back to London. And then back in London I am currently trying to drum up business for my consulting services, expand the CorporateResponsibility.Net website and network, network, network! 
Sounds like stress (which it is) but I LOVE IT!
I have some new development to talk about as well.
On the SustainabilityForum.com side have I now been able to use a new front page instead of a holding page. I used the WordPress Content Management System and simply copied the style and colour from the forum to create a somewhat look-alike of the vbulletin software in order to have it blend in when people visit the front page and then the forum subsequently.
Take a look if you like: SustainabilityForum.com
I also now have the possibility to provide a space for partners of the SustainabilityForum.com. This has always been missing.
I also have exciting news around my CorporateResponsibility.Net website. I managed to kick-start an interview series with leader in the CSR field. This means that I will conduct interviews with a number of organisations and individuals around a specific CSR topic specific to that company. The interviews series will start in the next few weeks and hopefully be very useful to everyone interested in CSR.

This week seems to go quite good so far. I am off to have a lunch meeting with a company today and my wife and I have an interesting meeting tomorrow evening. We will see how these two meetings will go.

Until then all the best,
Fabian
