Provide feedback for the next GRI Reporting Standard G4

We all usually have more time during the weekend. That is why I wanted to invite you today to visit the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) website to provide feedback for the GRI G4 Exposure Draft.

This is what the email I got send yesterday about the call for feedback:

GRI invites you to help shape the future of corporate sustainability reporting, by providing feedback on the Exposure Draft of G4 before 25 September 2012.

Your feedback on the Exposure Draft will guide the GRI Secretariat, Working Groups, and governance bodies to finalize the development of G4, ahead of its planned launch at GRI’s Conference in May 2013.

Based on feedback from the first Public Comment Period, G4 development is focused on the following five main areas – Boundary, Application Levels, Governance and Remuneration, Supply Chain, and Disclosures on Management Approach. Five Working Groups have developed new and updated existing content on each of these five issues, and it will be available online for comment from 25 June to 25 September 2012.

You can provide feedback in English on the G4 Exposure Draft following a simple process:

1. Download and read the G4 Exposure Draft
2. Register on the GRI Consultation Platform
3. Provide your feedback

For more information, to download the Exposure Draft, and to submit feedback, visit the GRI website.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Commenting on the upcoming Guardian Sustainability report

I love commenting as you will have noticed by now. I was therefore really happy to provide a comment about the upcoming The Guardian Sustainability report.

Jo Confino kindly nudged me again today to squeeze out some ideas and comments. After a busy and hectic week I finally found the time today to sit down and align my ideas in order to provide some useful and constructive feedback.

Here is what I wrote:
First of all thank you for including such a nice reference about my experience of the last report into the post Jo. My headaches have past obviously but I must say a lot of reports still give me pretty bad headaches. So lets try to make this a better report. ;-)
Here are some of the main issues I would like to see in the next report (some are new and the ones that you are already doing work on I would like you to continue the good work):

Reporting issues: guardian logo Commenting on the upcoming Guardian Sustainability report

  • Explain to us in more detail why you report the way you report. In my view you can never do this good enough.
  • Especially the rolling updates need to be explained in more detail.
  • Give us more details why you changed to stop doing something as a business and why you started something new in order to understand the rationale.
  • I am always going on about this but try to tell us as much as possible in a single storyline. Pure facts are boring and not many people can put them in context.

Topical issues

  • Give us an idea of how the guardian helps us make sense of the ever changing world. Regime changes and constant global turmoil are keeping our attention occupied so much these days that the Sustainability report needs to be more than just numbers and words. It needs to be about what you are doing and what has changed. The report needs to enable us as stakeholders to see through the Guardian’s eyes in my view.
  • The importance of Wikileaks as explained by the first commentator here.
  • Show us how you are part of making Sustainability and CSR more popular across the globe by being as transparent as possible. Engage us and make us like the Guardian even more.

This is what I can come up with at the moment. I hope this helps.

What would you like to see in the next Guardian Sustainability report? I am sure Jo from the Guardian would be very happy to have more feedback. This is the link to the article where you can provide feedback: The Guardian feedback

What changes would you like to see on my blog?

In today’s post I am solely interested in your opinion. I would like to have your honest and direct opinion on what I should change on my blog. I feel that every blog needs a facelift from time to time. Maybe now is the time for this blog to change. But I need your feedback in order to find that out.

  • Would you like to see a different layout?
  • Are the categories as they are descriptive enough for you the reader to find what you are looking for?
  • Would you like to see additional pages added to my 5 main pages on the top of the page?
  • Would you like to more comments being displayed on the front page?
  • ………………

This is your chance to let me know what I can/should change in order to make this blog better and easier to use for everyone.

Thanks a million everyone for visiting my blog, providing feedback and reading what I have to say!

The Guardian Sustainable Business: How are they doing?

My days are very busy at the moment, that is why today will only be a rather short post. This situation will change over the next weeks I hope. :-) But this is important post in my opinion.

It does not happen very often that we as stakeholders/viewers can influence the way a news and opinion provider such as The Guardian is determining which content mix is right for us.gsb The Guardian Sustainable Business: How are they doing?

Guardian Sustainable Business has been online for over a month now and is looking for your feedback on how they can make their website and the content choice better and more targeted towards your needs. Please visit : Guardian feedback to provide your feedback.

I am a keen reader of the new Sustainable Business articles and will leave my feedback tonight. I also think that Jo Confino and his team are doing a great job and provide a brilliant service to the overall CSR / Sustainability community with this new sustainable business section.

What about you? Have you looked at some of the posts already? If yes what do you think of the topics and selection of authors? If you have not had a chance to look at the topics here is the link again: Guardian Sustainable Business

Back from Wales and looking for feedback

We came back from Anglesey / Wales yesterday. We had a great week with some beautiful weather. Really lucky for this time of year as this region usually has a lot of rain very windy days in October. Some pictures will follow later this week.

I now have a lot to catch up on. Even though I checked my emails every day I have 50+ to answer and lots of Twitter, etc correspondence. This is the first part of this Sunday. :)

During the course of this week I had a lot of time to reflect on how I want to continue running this blog and I decided to add more personal thoughts to my posts as well as be more frequent in terms of posts during the week.

What are your thoughts on what I should write more about? Any suggestions and additions to the topics I am  already writing on? All feedback is very welcome.
