One more domain and a successful start

Just yesterday I acquired another nice domain name. This time I bought FairtradeFashion.com at a really good price. I think this domain really has potential. It is very descriptive and a “.com” which is always ideal as it is the most popular domain extension across the globe.
My newest venture CorporateResponsibility.Net seems to be a success as well. After just one week of being live the site has now over 80 regular subscribers and approximately 50-100 unique visitors every day.
Lets hope it stays that way and the site keep the momentum. icon smile One more domain and a successful start

Link of the Day (Something new I will do with every post from now on):
EnvironmentalLeader.com – One of the best websites on environmental news I have come across so far.

All the best,

My last new website is now online but this is just the start!

I am finally where I set out to be three months ago.

Three months ago I set myself the goal to build a news website, a website on stakeholder engagement topics and my own personal/business blog to complement the websites I already have. Yesterday I finally went online with my corporate responsibility website called CorporateResponsiblity.Net.crnet My last new website is now online but this is just the start!

The purpose of this website is to be a place for news all around Corporate Responsibility. I know that there some websites out there but I always struggle to see what value a lot of these news stories have. For me personally 70% of all the Corporate Responsibility news that come out on a daily basis is corporate spin, a pure publicity tool and do not really have a lot informational value in my opinion. The news and press releases that are on CorporateResponsibility.Net are only news items I came across personally and considered news worthy.

Back to the topic. icon smile My last new website is now online but this is just the start!

I now run two online forums, three blogs, one information/news website and my own company website, so seven altogether. I think this is more then enough for me now!

So my aim for the next 6 months is to establish each of these sites to be regarded as:

  1. Providing first class information on the particular topics all related to sustainability,
  2. Easy to read and founded within best practice and
  3. most important to help promote sustainability via the internet.

Obviously this is a lot of work but to be perfectly honest. I have always dreamed of doing something like this and I feel very lucky to finally be able to start realizing my dream.

All the best,

Fabian

New forum and some nice new domain names

It might be to some of you of interest to know that I have created a new sub forum called “Post your CV/Resume” on SustainabilityForum.com.
The intention of the sub forum is to give everyone who is looking for a job the chance to post their CV/Resume to increase the exposure of their talents. The job and internship section is the most popular section on the whole forum. It has over 250 regular email subscribers and roughly 150 visitors every day alone.
On my domain name front have I been able to secure three great domain names lately.
Just yesterday I acquired the domain Ethical-Living.com, 2 weeks I bought a similar domain called EthicalLiving.net and a fairtrade name called FairtradeClothes.org.
Ethical-Living.com just cries out for development into a website. But I already have 7 websites I manage (including the 2 currently in development). So I guess this one has to wait or be sold to someone who can develop it into a great website.

Fabian

Successful search for a designer and two great blogs

I have finally found a good and not so expensive wordpress designer. She will be designing me a custom wordpress theme. I will use this to build a proper page for the SustainabilityForum.com page as well as EnergyForum.cc

This will finally enable me to set up a proper forum partner page. It really is now becoming a necessity to do that as more and more organisations start to approach me to team up. So far we have conference provider, a think tank, a recruitment agency and a consultancy all doing work in the Sustainability sector.
She said it would take her about a week to do the programming. Lets wait and see.

I thought I would also share two great environmental blogs/information websites I stumbled across today:
http://sustainablog.org/
http://www.greendaily.com/

Very good read these two.

All the best,
Fabian

Back to the UK and my top 5 sustainability reports of 2007

The week in Germany is drawing to an end and I will fly back to London tomorrow. Hopefully the Heathrow experience will not be as horrible as it usually is. I must say when it comes to flying distances within Europe, I would always prefer to drive or even better, take the train/public transport. My wife can say from experience that I love any kind of public transportation (except the London tube). I have no idea what it is but public transportation if not to cramped can be very relaxing and soothing.
Anyway it’s back to London tomorrow and I finished a blog post over the course of the last two days again.

That one is posted on the SustainabilityBlog.org and hopefully provides some useful information on what my personal top 5 Sustainability reports from 2007 are. I tried to be as unbiased as possible and explained a little bit of my thinking behind the top 5 in the post.

Take a look if you want: The Top 5 Sustainability Reports of 2007

Any feedback on either of the posts or anything is as always much appreciated and welcomed.

That’s all for now but I will be back!:-)

Rainy April weather and the look out for a WordPress designer

Hello everyone,

I flew from London to Düsseldorf/Germany today and the weather is really horrible. It was just beautiful in London today but not here unfortunately. But I guess that does not really matter as I will be sitting in front of my computer most of the time anyway!

I am also on the lookout for a WordPress designer to get some WordPress themes done. So if you are or know a good WordPress designer with reasonable prices, get in touch.

If not but you wonder what WordPress is then these links might help you:

  • www.wordpress.org – Download your free wordpress software to set up your own hosted blog
  • www.wordpress.com – Create your own free of cost wordpress blog. Similar to blogger or blogspot.

WordPress is really a great piece of software if you want to start your own blog, honestly. I am not using anything else.

All the best,
Fabian

Something new on SustainabilityBlog.org

Just finished a new blog post today.

On the SustainabilityBlog.org I have listed good environmental/sustainability recruitment companies as well as good websites to look for interesting vacancies in the environmental field.
Take a look if you are interested.
And one other highlight of the day is that I am finally able to order business cards today for PB Consulting and the SustainabilityForum.com. It took some time but the layout looks great and I am eager to get them and distribute to everyone! icon smile Something new on SustainabilityBlog.org

London today! Great meeting with one potential partner for SustainabilityForum.com

Just came back from London today and a meeting with a potential partner for the SustainabilityForum.com. Very interesting organisation and hopefully we can build a successful a partnership that is beneficial for both sides.
The forum has been so far after little more then 15 months grown into one of the largest online forums on environmental and corporate social responsibility (CSR). We have on average 400-500 people visiting the forum every day. A year ago I never thought to reach these numbers by now!
