We want more virtual Sustainability / CSR conferences likes this please!

I was fortunate enough to be able to participate in the first ever virtual CSR conference titled ‘ Engage CSR 2010’ this week.

The whole setup as a virtual conference is a new concept in this field. But in my opinion of the conference was a huge success in bringing like-minded Sustainability / CSR people together and have them share information and experience at the same time. I believe I am not the only one looking at the feedback it got on Twitter and the coverage within the blogosphere so far.

This is a great initiative which should be emulated by all the heads of state around the world. They have had summit meetings and conferences galore; luxury events paid for by the world's taxpayers and have achieved nothing.

Every subsequent climate conference or G20 summit should be held virtually. This would have the added advantage of stopping the seemingly obligatory riots that accompany these events and the disruption to the citizens of the hosting city. Also, this method of convening would stop the bribery and corruption that happen at events such as IWC meetings.

Very good point. I am totally for that. Just imagine how much time, resources and taxpayers money is being spend when something like a G20 summit for example. Just ludicrous.
