Poll: CSR just a Management Fashion?

I will now start weekly polls on some Sustainability and CSR topics. I always wanted to do to polls on a more regular basis and then blog about it. So I thought, why not start this week? So I did.

  • Hi Fabian, yes, I agree that fads can become common practice. CSR itself is arguably not a new concept...will see how it evolves. Like the poll idea.
  • I do think CSR is something of a fad...but that isn't necessarily a bad thing if it means that companies do good things...besides profit (and there's nothing wrong with profit). However, I also think that while CSR is trendy (the economic downturn notwithstanding), I'm not sure how many companies view it as an integral part of what they do...or see themselves as true corporate citizens...with duties and obligations...besides profit.

    I agree that CSR is something of a fad but then again where'd many new ideas that emerged in business a fad first and then turned out to be common business practice?
